2016 - Where it began
James Percy-Smith - professional actor turned communication coach - began working with a small group of private clients across the UK. Word spread quietly. Results spoke louder.
2020 - The brand is born
The pandemic changed the world's relationship with communication overnight. James launched The Elocution Coach brand and, along with it, the Academy - giving clients structured, self-paced learning from day one.
2021 - The company is founded
Demand outgrew what one person could deliver. The Elocution Coach became a company - with its first five employees and a single shared ambition: to build the UK's leading communication coaching business.
2023 - Raising the bar
Own iOS and Android app launched. James recognised as International Elocution Coach of the Year. The Percy-Smith Method™ - ten years in the making - formalised as the methodology underpinning every programme.
2024 - Multi-award winning
Nationwide bootcamps launched. Best Communication Training Company and Best Public Speaking Coach of the Year. 1,000+ people supported through free training worldwide. Team grew to 15 specialists.
2025 - Best in class
Named Best Speech Coaching Company 2025. Academy reached 6,800 members. Clients across 50+ nationalities. Still growing, still pushing.
